In 2017, Stephen Curry put on his actor’s hat as he made an advertisement for Chase Bank. Besides Curry, tennis legend Serena Williams was featured in the commercial, which showed the two ultra-competitive athletes engaging in a spirited game of Ping Pong. It was a hilarious ad that saw Steph cause $370 worth of damage to the set. Fortunately, he was able to pay off those damages, seeing as he signed a $201,000,000 deal just two months later.
Steph Curry reached a huge milestone in the summer of 2017. Following the expiry of his previous four-year, $44,000,000 deal with the Golden State Warriors, he signed a new mega deal with the Dubs. One worth $201,000,000 that ran through five years, and one that made him the first player in NBA history to sign a deal worth over $200,000,000.
Stephen Curry hilariously caused $370 worth of damage while playing Ping Pong with Serena Williams
Stephen Curry and Serena Williams teamed up for a hilarious advertisement for Chase Bank. The ad in question featured the two superstar athletes meeting up in the green room of a make-believe set. There while bored out of their minds, Steph decided to challenge Serena to a game of Ping Pong.
The game started as a friendly back-and-forth until, as expected, things got competitive. They started putting their heart and soul into the game, which wasn’t suitable for the “green room”. With every point, something in the room began to break, starting with a lamp, then a wall hanging, and finally an electric guitar.
All in all, they may have caused close to $370 worth of damage, maybe even more. Luckily for them, they had the Chase Bank mobile app on hand, allowing them to make payments quickly and pay for all the damage they had caused.
A great advertisement from start to finish, that showed the value of having the mobile app. That being said, they were rather fortunate they hadn’t caused any real damage. Unlike the hot water they now find themselves in, thanks to the NFT market.
Both Steph and Serena are being sued for their involvement with Bored Ape
In hindsight, Stephen Curry and Serena Williams probably wish their biggest problem was $370 worth of property damage. Why? Because this problem they find themselves in now could cost them a lot more. Both Steph and Serena, along with a handful of other celebrities, are being sued for their involvement with Bored Ape.
The NFT company has been accused of falsely luring in investors with the help of celebrity endorsers. Unfortunately for said investors, the NFT market isn’t what it used to be, resulting in heavy financial losses and, in turn, forcing them to file a lawsuit.
All in all, things aren’t looking good for the Baby-Faced Assassin. After all, this news comes smack dab in the middle of his other lawsuit surrounding FTX. Hopefully, this doesn’t escalate even further, and the four-time NBA Champion can deal with all this before the start of the 2023-2024 season.
