Early in his NBA career, Stephen Curry was a player that had a lot of talent but couldn’t stay healthy as he dealt with ankle issues that were thought to potentially derail his career as a star in this league.
Fortunately for Curry, the Golden State Warriors superstar was able to figure out how to take care of his body while changing his game to avoid these kinds of injuries, and he has never looked back since as he singlehandedly changed the game, thrusting the league into the three-point shooting era.
As a result of changing the game, Curry has won four NBA titles and may not be done yet, even though he’s not getting any younger at 35 years old.
Although it remains to be seen how much basketball Curry may have left in him while playing at an elite level, the face of the Warriors franchise definitely knows what it takes to win and detailed what a team needs to do in order to compete for a championship in an interview with Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, via NBACentral.
Coming into the 2023-24 NBA season, the Warriors will look a bit different, with the team recently trading young guard Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran floor general Chris Paul.
Even though Paul and the Warriors stars haven’t liked each other much over the years, they’ve got to figure out how to play with one another and combine two styles of basketball that couldn’t be more different.
It’ll be interesting to see if this Paul experiment works in San Francisco next season and if Curry and company have one more championship run left in them.
