Stephen Curry Talks About His Wife Ayesha and Their Closet: “She Has More Space” (Exclusive)

Stephen Curry is getting candid about sharing a closet with his wife Ayesha Curry.

“She has more space within that closet,” Steph, 35, told PEOPLE in a recent interview for his Rakuten Partnership which champions Black designers throughout the 2024 NBA season. “I’m probably more organized or more OCD about it being clean on my side.”

“That’s kind of the back-in-forth,” he continues. “I think I put a little bit of pressure on her on the daily because of how my side of the closet looks. But also she puts pressure on me by trying to keep up with her style because she pretty much brings it every single day.”

Stephen and Ayesha first met at church when they were teenagers in North Carolina. After getting married in June 2011, they welcomed their first child — daughter Riley — a year later. Their family expanded again with their second daughter, Ryan, in 2015, followed by their son, Canon, in 2018.

In May 2021, Ayesha opened up about becoming a first-time mother at a young age, explaining how it was difficult to figure out her career while raising her children. She eventually found her passion after launching a recipe blog, which has grown into an empire that includes restaurants, cookbooks and a TV series.

As for Stephen, the nine-time NBA All-Star has mastered juggling his busy career with fatherhood — though he’s said his kids aren’t all that impressed with his basketball skills.

“I don’t think they care too much about how many times the ball goes in the basket,” he explained, adding that at home, “you’re just dad and that’s the best part about it.”

In July, the NBA star took to Instagram to share plenty of sunny vacation photos, all in celebration of his wife and their 12-year wedding anniversary.

The carousel post featured pictures of the beloved NBA couple lounging on boat decks and posing in front of scenic beaches, but the most heartwarming feature is the public love note Steph penned for Ayesha in his caption.

“My Woman. I Love you more than you know. I’m thankful for every experience we have shared together. The highs, the lows, the ways life has brought us closer together through it all,” the Golden State Warriors star said. “God continues to bless us. You have brought me so much joy and happiness from day 1.”
