Michael Jordan has been attempting to sell his massive Chicago suburbs mansion for a long time.
The former home of the legendary NBA star has been on the market since 2012. The Highland Park, Illinois mansion was initially listed for $29 million. But it’s dropped in price significantly since then, as it’s now listed for $14.855 million.
Jordan, who won six championships with the Chicago Bulls, went all-out designing the home, but it appears to be a bit dated now. And, thanks to a viral video from a TikTok user, the state of the home appears to be a bit rough.
A TikTok video by user @decayingmidwest, originally posted in January, is going viral now.
If this is indeed Jordan’s $15 million mansion, it looks pretty rough, as described by the New York Post:
An indoor basketball court, complete with a Bulls logo, appears to be flooded.
The kitchen is seemingly trapped mid-renovation with cupboard doors on the ground, with pieces of wood and trash throughout the room.
The largely empty house has chairs, beds and couches in the rooms, though it’s clear there haven’t been many tenants, if any, in years.
Jordan has had extreme difficulty selling the mansion, dropping it in price multiple times over the years.
The home has gained interest in recent years, probably thanks to “The Last Dance.”
“I’m not sure if it’s because of the TV programs that they did (the 2020 “The Last Dance” documentary miniseries on Netflix) or if it’s because people have an interest in looking at it a little bit differently, but suddenly there does appear to be a bit of interest in it,” Katherine Malkin of Compass told The Chicago Tribune in 2022.
But it hasn’t resulted in a sale yet.
