We all hate phishing scammers, and apparently, so does Jason Statham. He takes revenge on them in the debut trailer for The Beekeeper, and we’re very much here for it.
The trailer opens with Statham announcing to a room full of underground hackers that, with respect, he’s going to burn this place to the ground, which sets up the tone for what we can expect.
As per the synopsis, The Beekeeper sees “one man’s brutal campaign for vengeance take on national stakes after he is revealed to be a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as Beekeepers.”
Directed by David Ayer, who brought us 2016’s Suicide Squad, it co-stars Jeremy Irons and Minnie Driver. Most will be watching for the The Stath, though, who’ll no doubt yet again deliver another dose of macho charisma.
There’ll be car chases, shootouts, and a litany of one-liners (“We have laws for these things,” someone tells Statham, who replies “Until they fail, then you have me.”). So it’ll be in the wheelhouse of literally every other Jason Statham film.
We last see him go up against prehistoric predators in Meg 2: The Trench (check out our Meg 2: The Trench review roundup), and before then, Fast X. Up next, he’ll be battling alongside Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables 4, making the end of the year a busy period for Statham.
