The Michael Jordan Factor: The $5.1 billion brand shoes and other items the Hollywood actor is displaying in his “exclusive” stack

Does Anthony Anderson have a room full of sneakers? Apparently, yes. Most friendships begin unexpectedly and something similar happened with the Black-ish star and the NBA legend Michael Jordan. While mostly we only see them trying to rip each other’s necks off, the competitiveness is only during business hours. Off it, they have mutual respect for each other’s achievements. But does that mean Anderson should dedicate a room to the Jordans and other sneakers?

Recently, the actor and comedian rode down to Hollywood Boulevard for his appearance on the prime talk show ‘The Jimmy Kimmel Show’. Clearing the confusion about him saving his enormous sneaker collection for its value, the actor said, “They’re only valuable if somebody wants to spend money on it.” He continued, “I have some exclusive Air Jordans. But they are great shoes that have been given to me. I don’t wanna scuff them.”

Disclosing his source of the sneakers, Anderson gave out a name. He said, “MJ gives them to me. Kinda don’t wanna drop names but we’re friends. Coincidentally, we wear the same size shoes, a 13. So, when exclusives drop, and I go out to buy them, and I can’t buy them because everybody’s bought them before me. So, I call MJ up and he sends them to me.”

He also told Jimmy Kimmel about his sneaker fetish. Anderson has over 500 pairs, an entire room, and an entire shoe closet for his shoes. However, he also mentioned that he has not worn a majority of them as he only wears 2-3 shoes every day. Want to know how quickly he sends over the requested sneakers from the $5.1 billion brand to his friend?

Michael Jordan gifts Dior x Air Jordan 1

Apparently, friendship means a lot to MJ. In fact, even Air Jordan exclusives with the luxury brand Dior costing up to $15,000-$20,000 did not keep him from gifting them to his friend. During his interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Anthony Anderson also mentioned these epic drops that he missed in his size.

Seemingly, he simply called up the Chicago Bulls icon, and two days later, he had those expensive shoes waiting for him. He noted, “I’ve worn them once just so people can see I have them and then I took them off and I put them on the shelf.”

While many would agree those are a lot of shoes, it makes sense because most of them are Air Jordans. Additionally, it is refreshing to see the two tough competitors in their fields coming together to such lovely exchanges as a token of their friendship.
