The Golden State Warriors are expected to be active in the trade market ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. They have already added multiple new faces courtesy of the six-team sign-and-trade deal that sent Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks. Nevertheless, Golden State will likely seek additional reinforcements in the coming months.
According to Steve Kerr, who was recently speaking on an episode of the “Willard & Dibs show,” the only player not being floated in potential trade discussions is Steph Curry, everyone else, which likely includes Draymond Green, are potentially up for grabs in the right deal.
“There’s very few players in the league who are not talked about in trade discussions. Steph Curry is not being talked about in trade talks. Everybody else is,” Kerr said. “And if you went down the list of NBA teams, the Los Angeles Lakers probably aren’t talking to anybody about LeBron James. Everybody’s got maybe one or two guys who are off the table. So the vast majority of the players in the NBA are going to be discussed in trade talks, because everyone’s trying to improve their team.”
Curry is the face of the Warriors franchise. Mike Dunleavy has recently noted how the superstar guard will likely end his career in the Bay Area. As such, it makes sense that Golden State wouldn’t entertain potential trades for the sharpshooting veteran.
Currently, there’s no telling whether the Warriors will find a trade that makes sense for their roster. However, they would be wise to continue searching the market if they want to get back to contending for titles during the final phase of Curry’s career.
