Since Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely, the Golden State Warriors haven’t had much luck. While the losses that they are facing aren’t necessarily only because of Green’s absence, there is no doubt that his presence is a significant advantage. Now, after their third consecutive loss to the Mavericks tonight, Stephen Curry opens up about his close friend.
Talking at the post-game presser, Steph says, “We haven’t talked about him much since he’s been gone, you know, for a reason. The space, allowing him to make the progress he needs to make.” As Curry mentions, the suspension also serves the purpose of making progress. And while Kerr and other Warriors have offered their indefinite support, the real change needs to come from Green himself.
And when Dray has his mountains to climb, the Golden State Warriors have their own issues to tackle. Namely, staying “competitive while he [Draymond] is out.” Curry couldn’t stress the importance of this enough. This isn’t the first time either that he has reiterated the importance of staying focused.
Prior to this, Curry had shared his thoughts after the suspension was finalized. The bond that these two have is not simply limited to the court. And so, it’s safe to say that Steph knows what he’s talking about. He had admitted that during the meeting, everyone acknowledged the fact that things cannot go as it has been. Not just for the sake of Green, but at large.
But until then, Stephen Curry cannot allow his Warriors to continue as it is.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that tensions are at all-time high amongst the Golden State. And Chef Curry is close to the boiling point by now. Tonight’s loss against the Dallas Mavericks revealed his frustrations. Unsurprisingly, Curry led with 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to pull the team over the edge.
This time though, the front office and coaching staff also caught strays from his venting. Talking to the media about not having a dependable starter five, he calls them out for still not being able to make a decision. “It’s frustrating, for sure … a good team can answer that question (Is there a clear-cut five players the team can rely on?). We have to get to that point, for sure, before it’s too late.”
Finishing the season on a loss isn’t something any team wants to be known for. It’s especially hard for a dynasty like the Golden State Warriors. Like he said, staying competitive is what the team’s focus should be going forward. Hopefully, this serves as a wakeup call, for everyone!
