Toto Wolff & Company’s $500 million Lewis Hamilton’s Loss Is Shamed in Public at the Chinese Grand Prix

Can’t wait for the 2025 Formula 1 season? When Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton announced their partnership for 2025, much of the F1 community wanted to write off the current season to watch Hamilton in the scarlet red overalls. However, one of the fans attending the Chinese Grand Prix seems to already have moved to 2025 as they brought a Hamilton cut-out in the Ferrari suit, sort of poking fun at the loss of the Brackley-based squad.

Toto Wolff refused to offer Lewis Hamilton the long-term contract he wanted because the Austrian was keeping the option open for the young Italian prodigy, Kimi Antonelli. However, Ferrari saw this as an opportunity and offered an irresistible deal to the 7-time champion with $100 million in salary and reportedly another $400 million to support his endeavors off the track like the Mission 44.

The move was labeled as a presidential decree from John Elkann, who has been trying to get his hands on Lewis Hamilton since 2019. And now that Carlos Sainz is on his way out, fans are already manifesting Hamilton at Ferrari. One of the attendees at the Chinese Grand Prix even brought Lewis’s cutout in a Ferrari suit and pasted the logo of Ferrari, on his Mercedes-branded cap.

Clearly, he was a former Mercedes fan because of Lewis Hamilton, who has now shifted his allegiance to the Scuderia. The candid photo of the fan was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Sir Lewis Updated, a famous fan page of the British driver. The post read, “Bro is already in 2025!! He’s holding a cardboard cutout of Lewis in Ferrari suit and covered his Merc cap with a Ferrari logo 😭.”

While the fans can’t wait to see Hamilton in the red, the 7x champion is fed up with the media asking questions about 2025.

Lewis Hamilton snapped at a reporter in Japan when asked about Ferrari

Let’s face it, we all want to get to 2025 as soon as possible. However, there is a whole season yet to unfold and Hamilton has been adamant that he is completely focused on helping Mercedes improve. But the media, being the media, can’t stay away from asking questions about the next season.

And since Ferrari has closed the gap to Red Bull in 2024, contrary to Mercedes, who have fallen further behind, a reporter asked Hamilton after the Japanese Grand Prix if he is jealous that his future team is doing so well. And that’s when the 29-year-old snapped at the reporter. He simply said, “Do you have any better questions?“ and walked away from the interview.
