CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – One of Charlotte’s favorite sons just welcomed a son of his own.
Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha, welcomed a baby boy on May 11, according to a post from Curry’s Instagram.
“Our sweet baby boy decided to make an early arrival!!” the NBA superstar said in the post. “He’s doing great and we are finally settling in at home as a family of 6! So grateful!”
The now 2-week-old appears to be named Caius Chai Curry, based on the Instagram post. The baby boy is the fourth child born to Steph and Ayesha, and is the second son, joining Canon. Daughters Riley and Ryan were born in 2011 and 2015, People said.
Fellow athletes and celebrities shared their congratulatory messages with the Currys. Russell Wilson, Trae Young, Michael Phelps, Hailey Bieber, Justin Timberlake and several others were among the group.
The couple met in Charlotte, where both went to high school and where Steph’s dad, Dell, starred for the Hornets.
Steph was presented with a “key to the city” in 2022, and last year, Davidson town leaders proposed renaming an I-77 interchange after the former Wildcats basketball star.
After a stellar collegiate career at Davidson, Curry was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2009, and has gone on to win four NBA titles, 2 MVP awards, and has been named an All-Star and All-NBA selection 10 times.
