One player who struggled throughout the season for the Golden State Warriors was Jordan Poole. Whether it be in the regular season, but especially in the playoffs, Poole had a rollercoaster season. As such, his name seems to be getting dragged through trade rumors already.
The new GM of the Golden State Warriors, Mike Dunleavey Jr., addressed the future of both Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga in a press conference with majority owner Joe Lacob.
“We love having those guys here,” Dunleavy said. “Jordan, especially, with his contract extension, we plan to have him here for four more years at least.”
Warriors fans may think that the organization might be unhappy with Poole after his performance during the playoffs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all.
“Both of those guys, really, really good young players we’re pleased with. They have great value around the league. Obviously, a lot of rumors and stuff coming up around this time of year, but we’re happy with those guys.”
The Golden State Warriors didn’t just extend Poole to a five-year deal only to trade him in the immediate future. There’s a reason why players like Paul George think so highly of Poole, and he’s still way too young to give up on.
Hopefully, the struggles Poole faced last season only serve to make him a better player this season.
