ORLANDO – The Orlando Magic is healing after a stinging 121-115 loss against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night at the Chase Center.
The game between the two teams was very competitive throughout the first three quarters as neither squad took a major lead. Orlando had its runs, then Golden State would respond, and vice versa.
Orlando took a 93-92 advantage with 8:33 to go in the fourth quarter, but then Golden State went on a 14-4 run to take the lead for good. Orlando has played many games quite like this one as of late. The team will have played well enough through three quarters to either be in the lead or within striking distance … only to squander it down the stretch. It’s a point of emphasis for coach Jamahl Mosley and the team as it looks to navigate throughout the season.
Leading the way for the Warriors was none other than Stephen Curry, who torched the Magic for a game-high 36 points. All five Warriors in the starting lineup scored in double figures, including 19 from Jonathan Kuminga.
For the Magic, the usual suspects Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner led the team in scoring with a combined 52 points … 27 from Banchero and 25 from Wagner.
In injury-related news, Gary Harris left the game with a strained hamstring, racking up another bruise for the snake-bitten Magic.
The Magic has a quick turnaround, returning to the floor on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
