Warriors Reveal Steph Curry’s Involvement in Future Decisions

The Golden State Warriors introduced their new general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. on Monday, and he was asked how involved Steph Curry will be in the team’s future decisions.

“Steph can be as involved as he wants, as far as I’m concerned,” Dunleavy Jr. said. “But that’s not his personality. He likes to be kept in the loop on stuff, which he’s earned and deserved. So I think because I, and we, value his opinions and thoughts on stuff, I think you’re always running things by him. But Steph just wants to work on his game, play some golf, be with his family, so I’m not going to bother him too much.”

As Dunleavy Jr. noted, Curry can be as involved as he wants to be, and the Warriors will always run things by him, but they also don’t want to bother him much. The superstar point guard has certain preferences, but he’s not the aggressive type of franchise player that needs to be directly involved in every single decision.

With a player like Curry, the Warriors know their championship window is always open. Maximizing the final years of his prime should be a top priority for the Warriors, and it’s a responsibility that now sits with Mike Dunleavy Jr., who has taken over Bob Myers’ former position.

The next big date for the Warriors is June 22nd, which is the NBA Draft.
