The Golden State Warriors are undefeated in this year’s NBA Preseason. They won the first four games of the preseason, with their last win coming on a Stephen Curry game-winning three-pointer over the Sacramento Kings. But Stephen Curry and Co. might have the tallest task ahead of them. The Warriors will face the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs in their preseason finale. The 7’5 rookie has lived up to the hype and dominated his opponents throughout the preseason.
This is the first time the Warriors will go head-to-head against the Frenchman. And the NBA world is hoping to see the highly anticipated clash between 4-time Champion Stephen Curry and phenom Victor Wembanyama. But, will Chef Curry suit up tonight to face Wembanyama? Let’s find out.
Stephen Curry vs. Victor Wembanyama
Stephen Curry set the Chase Center on fire after hitting a game-winning three-pointer over De’Aaron Fox to seal the win for the Warriors in the last game. Curry scored 30 points and mesmerized the fans with some insane shots. But the fans are wondering if the Baby-faced assassin will step on the court against Victor Wembanyama tonight. Head coach Steve Kerr revealed the Warriors’ starting lineup against their long-time rivals San Antonio Spurs.
Stephen Curry will play the final game of the preseason, and he will start the game with Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney. Kerr also said that the starters will not play heavy minutes, and he plans on playing several players in their preseason finale.
However, the NBA world is excited to know that Chef Curry will play tonight as that gives them a chance to witness him going head-to-head against the French sensation Victor Wembanyama.
San Antonio is yet to reveal their starting lineup and confirm whether Victor Wembanyama will play against Stephen Curry and Co.
Can Stephen Curry and Co stay undefeated?
The Warriors have not lost a match since acquiring Point God Chris Paul. They have won all games in the preseason and hope to keep their winning streak alive tonight. But the task will not be that easy if Victor Wembanyama suits up for the Spurs. Wemby has put up some incredible performances throughout the preseason. And it is not just what he is doing, it is how he is doing those things that has impressed the NBA world.
In his three preseason appearances, Wemby has dunked on several defenders, blocked multiple shots, nutmegged players, hit an alley-oop running from the three-point line, and hit saucy step-back jumpers. Whenever the 19-year-old steps on the court, he looks like a “Cheat Code” in NBA2K. But so does Stephen Curry with his insane shooting ability.
It will truly be a ‘Clash of the Titans’ when Steph faces Wembanyama. And since it is the final preseason game for both teams, they are highly likely to face each other for the first time tonight.
