WrestleMania XL featured the most of The Rock in the WWE in nearly a decade. The actor and professional wrestler was a major part of the show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a competitor. However, he also took an important role on the creative side, thanks to his unprecedented role as an authority for TKO Group Holdings. As we already know, The Peoples Champ’s first appearance at Road to WrestleMania was far from a prelude to the matches that were featured in the show at the end.
In fact, 2024 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes believed that he would not make it to WrestleMania to face Roman Reigns. The American Nightmare winning the battle royal was supposed to set up a head-to-head against The Tribal Chief beyond WrestleMania.
Unlike what The Rock said in the WrestleMania documentary, as per several reports, the initial idea that Johnson’s team pitched was for Cody Rhodes to sell an injury that would rule him out of The Showcase of Immortals.
And then, the People’s Champion would have taken his place on the show, working as the public’s favorite against Roman Reigns who would be his enemy. However, as we all know, that did not come to fruition. But now that Reigns too has become somewhat of a part-timer that appears only for major PPV’s, just like the Brahma Bull, can we get to see a matchup between the two at WrestleMania 41? Well, that is absolutely possible.
The Rock vs. Reigns for WrestleMania 41
The original pitch for WrestleMania XL featured The Rock winning the Undisputed WWE Championship and ending The Tribal Chief’s streak, only to vacate it the next day in favor of being “The People’s Champion” in perpetuity. This would have led him to receive the belt that he later won during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, which he carried with him throughout WrestleMania Weekend.
That did not happen, but another major storyline broke through as Solo Sikoa took over the Bloodline in Roman Reigns’ absence. He kicked out Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman as he created a line-up of his own with Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Now, Reigns is expected to have a feud with Bloodline 2.0 when he returns. He forms his own Bloodline again by recruiting Jimmy and Jey Uso while also adding either Hikuleo or Zilla Fatu to the mix. But what if The Rock joins team Sikoa?
The original Tribal Chief did embarrass the Brahma Bull by losing against Cody Rhodes. So it is possible that Johnson might return to take revenge against his cousin. Another major plot twist could be Sikoa and the other members acknowledging Dwayne Johnson as the new Tribal Chief. Leading to an epic clash between the two groups. The possibilities are endless, and they are good enough to be a major draw for the promotion. So there is no doubt that this dream match will take place at WrestleMania 41. What do you think? Who will win the feud? Let us know in the comments.
