Stephen Curry starred in a golden era with the Golden State Warriors, with whom he managed to cement a true dynasty that was consecrated with four championship rings in the last decade (2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022).
Curry has two years left on his contract with the Dubs and could sign an extension this summer. In an interview with Vince Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, the ‘Chef’ assured that he would like to “Be a Warrior for life”. Those words were echoed by the general manager of the Warriors, Mike Dunleavy Jr., who has expressed his desire for Curry’s continuity in the franchise.
Dunleavy says he would like to find extensions for Kuminga and Moody. As for Curry’s extension, that’s also a big priority. ‘I think that stuff will get figured out, and he’ll be a Warrior for life.’” revealed Kendra Andrews from ESPN.
‘El Chef’ averaged 26.4 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. With 45.0% shooting, he made 40.8% of his three-pointers in his last season with the Dubs.
Curry would be in Warriors for a couple more years
The deadline to reach an agreement would be October 21, so Curry, Kuminga, and Moody have time to engage in denials.
According to ESPN insider Bobby Marks, the rule for players over 38 is that Steph Curry is eligible for a one-year extension in exchange for $62.6 million that would begin in 2026-27. In the cases of Kuminga and Moody, they can reach an agreement for up to 5 years and 25% of the limit in 2025-26.
